ブラックホールの中心は重力が無限大になった“特異点”です。ただ、特異点そのものをブラックホールというのではなく、それ以上近づくと光すら引き返せなくなる境界線までがブラックホールと認識されています。その境界線を“事象の地平線”と呼び、特異点から事象の地平線までがブラックホールの半径です。もしかしたら、特異点にたどり着くまでは生きていられるかもしれません
実はブラックホールに落ちる人を観測すると、面白い現象が起こります。アインシュタインの一般相対性理論では、重力が強くなるほど時間はゆっくりと流れます。だからブラックホールに近づくあなたを私が見ていると、だんだんスローモーションになっていくんです
仮に、あなたが1秒で吸い込まれても、私の時間では100時間や100日かけてゆっくり入っていくように見えるんです。そして、最終的にはブラックホールの手前であなたの体が止まったままの状態で見えます。これはとてつもない重力によって、時間のズレが無限大になってしまったから。ただし、光のことを一緒に考慮すると、実際はブラックホールに近づくと、光が届かなくなってくるので、あなたの体は停止するより前に、赤く暗くなり見えなくなります。時間のズレを無限大にする（止めてしまう）ブラックホールが、別名“凍結星”といわれているのはそのためです
