すべての労働者は、会社に対して自分の労働力やスキルを「売っている」。その意味では、労働者も「経営者」なのであり、会社は「顧客」である。経営者をまったく別の人種、憎むべき敵と考えるのではなく、むしろ自分も「経営者」なのだと考えてほしい。「クソ労働環境」とは、いわば自分の労働力やスキルが「安い値段でしか売れない」ということ、「買い叩かれている」ということだ。そのことを、会社という「顧客」のせいにして、「クソ」だと罵っても仕方がない。自分の労働力やスキルが「高く売れる」ように、自分の側が力をつけて、「そんな安い値段では売れないよ」と言えるようになれば、「クソ労働環境」にガマンする必要もなくなる。
これももちろん、見方を変えるという「精神論」に過ぎないので、これだけでこの問題が解決するとは思っていない。しかし、このように経営者の立場で考えてみることで、雇用問題の「構造」が見やすくなると思う。私も雇用問題を意識するようになったのは、自分で会社をやるようになってからだ。日本では、会社に対して強い規制と高い税金がかけられていて、この負担が労働者にシワ寄せされている、という「構造」がよく見えるようになった。私が雇用問題について積極的に書いているのは、この「構造」が原因であることを多くの人に知ってほしいからだ。
